Bleach – Aizen vs Ichigo Feats

Ichigo Vaporizes a Crag

Ichigo’s sword swing vaporizes part of a crag. There’s some debate as to what caused this feat. When Ichigo first comes back from the Dangai, Aizen remarks that he can’t feel any Reiatsu coming from him at all. After Ichigo pushes him out of Karakura Town and into the mountainous area, Aizen theorizes that Ichigo has gone beyond needing Reiatsu and converted everything into physical strength.

For this reason, back when the chapter was first released, the common belief was that a shockwave from Ichigo’s sword swing caused the vaporization of the crag. However, it eventually was revealed that Aizen couldn’t feel Ichigo’s Reiatsu because it was so far above his own. So that means “shockwave is the only explanation” is no longer the only explanation. The fact that shockwaves don’t typically vaporize anything, and that it sort of looks like a ball of energy in the scan, leads me to believe that this is Ichigo’s reiatsu that Aizen was unable to feel. Hence, why he believed that it was himself who vaporized the crag.

Ichigo is 1.81 m tall after the Dangai training. He’s 41 pixels here compared to 77 for height of the bushes near him. The bushes in front of the crag are 32 pixels tall compared to diameter 1 at 395 and height of destruction at 268.

77 / 41 = 1.878 * 1.81 = 3.4 m, bush height

We’re using the bushes near Ichigo as an “average” of sorts for the bushes in front of the crag.

395 / 32 = 12.344 * 3.4 = 41.97 m, diameter 1 of crag

268 / 32 = 8.375 * 3.4 = 28.475 m, height of destruction

Diameter 1 of the crag is 359 pixels compared to 240 for diameter 2.

240 / 359 = .669 * 41.97 = 28.078 m, diameter 2

Treating it as an oval cylinder, the vaporized rock has a volume of 26,354.741 m^3

Rock has a density of 2,700 m^3

26,354.741 * 2,700 = 71,157,800.7 Kg, weight of vaporized rock

Vaporization point for rock is 2,470 C, and the temp change at standard temps would be 2,450 C. Specific heat of rock is 750 J/kg C.

71,157,800.7 * 750 * 2,450 = 130,752,458,786,250 J

Now we need to find latent heat of vaporization. Stone has a latent heat of vaporization of 4.8 KJ/g, or 4,800,000 J/Kg

71,157,800.7 * 4,800,000 = 341,557,443,360,000 J

341,557,443,360,000 + 130,752,458,786,250 = 472,309,902,146,250 J, or 112.89 Kilotons

Mind you, this is just an accidental consequence of swinging his sword.

Aizen’s Sword Swing

Alright, so we’ve seen what a swing of Ichigo’s sword can do, now how about Aizen?Rather than vaporize, his strike appears to pulverize the rock past Ichigo.

Unfortunately we never get a full view of the destruction. It appears to be circular in nature so I’m going to use what we’re given and treat it as an oval cylinder. Ichigo is 1.81 m as previously established. He’s 23 pixels compared to 858 for diameter 1 and 549 for diameter 2.

858 / 23 = 37.304 * 1.81 = 67.52 m, diameter 1 of hole

549 / 23 = 23.87 * 1.81 = 43.205 m, diameter 2 of hole

Ichigo is 14 pixels compared to depth of hole at 317.

317 / 14 = 22.643 * 1.81 = 40.984 m, depth of hole

As an oval cylinder, the pulverized rock has a volume of 93,903.271 m^3

Using the Kuznetsov equation

k50= A(V/Q)^0.8 * Q^1/6

An average snowflake is about .2 inches in diameter, or 0.5 cm. That’ll be our particle size as the visuals remind me somewhat of snow.

0.5 = 7(93,903.271/Q)^0.8 * Q^1/6

Q = 123,298,000 kg of TNT or 123.3 Kilotons

Aizen’s Fragor

Aizen’s Fragor creates a huge explosion and vaporizes a hole in the ground. As we can see, the blast is visible to Tatsuki and the others from Karakra town. By figuring out their distance, we can use angular size to get the size of the blast/hole.

As previously established, Karakura town is roughly 7,854 m across. It’s not a perfect circle, as the map above shows, so I tried to keep things centered while measuring.

Tatsuki’s location is where Aizen was last chasing her and the others. They were somewhere between their school and Kojima’s home, which both happen to be in the same district on the map.

So I pinpointed their location between those two areas as my best guess.

At any rate, distance from middle of Mashiba to outside of town is 205 pixels compared to 455 for width of town.

205 / 455 = .451 * 7,854 = 3,542.154 m, minimum distance between Fragor Blast and Tatsuki

For this angular size, we’ll be using the horizontal field of view for a human, 210 degrees. The panel is 600 pixels wide and the blast is 115.

600 / 210 = 2.857 Pixels/Degree

115 / 2.857 = 40.252 degrees, size of blast

From here we can use the angular size calculator to solve for size, using 40.252 degrees for size and 3,542.154 m for distance. The result comes to 2,596.1 m

Depth of hole is 108 pixels compared to radius of the hole at 505.

2,596.1 / 2 = 1,298.05, radius

108 / 505 = .214 * 1,298.05 = 277.783 m, depth of hole

Treating the hole as a cylinder, the volume comes to 1,470,409,769.773 m^3

Rock has a density of 2,700 m^3

1,470,409,769.773 * 2,700 = 3,970,106,378,387.1 Kg, weight of vaporized rock

Vaporization point for rock is 2,470 C, and the temp change at standard temps would be 2,450 C. Specific heat of rock is 750 J/kg C.

3,970,106,378,387.1 * 750 * 2,450 = 7,295,070,470,286,296,250 J

Now we need to find latent heat of vaporization. Stone has a latent heat of vaporization of rock: 4.8 KJ/g, or 4,800,000 J/Kg

3,970,106,378,387.1 * 4,800,000 = 19,056,510,616,258,080,000 J

19,056,510,616,258,080,000 + 7,295,070,470,286,296,250 = 26,351,581,086,544,376,250 J, or 6.3 Gigatons

Ichigo broke through six of Fragors at once, so…

26,351,581,086,544,376,250 * 6 = 158,109,486,519,266,257,500 J, or 37.79 Gigatons

Got to say, the power jump here is pretty wild. I think this is as far as I’ll go with Bleach for now. I’ll return to it after finishing up Naruto and some more of One Piece. I may jump into some other series too. The way I see it, there’s no need to rush.
